BPW Brampton Caledon members make a positive impact in Brampton and Caledon by supporting local partners and addressing immediate needs through fundraising, drives, and events. We come together to help families and individuals thrive and show what community care looks like in action.
Community Partners
BPW Brampton Caledon advances policy solutions that strengthen opportunities, equity, and well‑being for women in Ontario. Through the provincial resolutions process, our members identify key priorities that improve women and girl’s access to health, safety, and equitable opportunities, and work to influence government policies that have the greatest impact on women across the province.
Prior Successful Resolutions Included in Provincial Briefs
2025: Addressing Gender-Specific Mental Health Needs and Reforming Ontario’s Mental Health Care System.
2024: Expansion of funding for Women Victims of Violence.
2024: Programs preventing gender-based violence in immigrant communities.
2024: Funding for bail court notifications to victim services agencies.
Draft resolutions are debated, amended, and voted on at the BPW Ontario Annual General Meeting (AGM). Once adopted, these resolutions are compiled into a Provincial Brief that is shared with to the Ontario government, relevant ministries, opposition parties, and allied organizations.
Members are encouraged to share the Brief with their local Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) to help advance advocacy at the provincial and community level.
BPW Brampton Caledon contributes to shaping national policy that directly affects women’s professional, economic, and social well-being. Our members draft and submit resolutions that target key issues where national policy can most meaningfully advance women’s equality, empowerment, and safety.
2025: Federal Income Tax Equity and Single Senior Women.
2025: Criminalizing Coercive Control in Intimate Relationships (a follow-up to the prior year’s resolution on prioritizing femicide in Canada’s Criminal Code).
2025: Standing with Afghan Women and Girls.
2025: Gender Equity in Artificial Intelligence, underscoring BPW’s commitment to addressing urgent and emerging issues.
2024: The Prioritization and Inclusion of Femicide in Canada’s Criminal Code.
2023: Women’s Access to Health Education through Technology. This resolution was adopted by BPW International at the St. Kitts Congress (2024).
Resolutions are presented, debated, and voted on at the BPW Canada Annual General Meeting by members from across the country. Once adopted, they are compiled into a Federal Brief and submitted to the Government of Canada, relevant ministries, opposition leaders, and allied organizations.
Members are encouraged to share the Brief with their local Member of Parliament (MP) to help advance advocacy at the national level.
